Using the shot counter on a KASTOR machine

The shot counter shows the machine's real workload: how many espressos each group has pulled. It is the basis for scheduled maintenance, coffee cost control and sales statistics.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Open the statistics menu on the machine display.

  2. Review the total counter and the per-button counters for each group.

  3. Reset the interim counter if needed — for example, at the start of a shift.

  4. Reconcile the shot count with sales at the end of the day.

  5. Plan filter changes and servicing based on the machine's actual mileage.

Tips from KASTOR

  • The lifetime counter cannot be reset — it is what helps the service centre assess machine condition.
  • A sudden change in average shots per group is a reason to check your grind settings.
