Precise doses are the foundation of a consistent drinks menu. This guide shows how to program the water volume for every group button — espresso, doppio, lungo — so each cup comes out identical.

Step-by-step guide
Prepare a portafilter with fresh coffee and lock it into the group.
Hold the programming button until the indicators start blinking — the machine enters recording mode.
Press the dose button you are programming and place a cup on the scales.
Stop the flow once the cup holds the target volume — the machine memorises it.
Repeat for the remaining buttons and verify with a control shot.
Tips from KASTOR
- Use scales accurate to 0.1 g — a stable coffee-to-drink ratio stabilises taste.
- After changing the grind, re-check your doses: the extraction time may have shifted.
